We are constantly told that we need something.
That something is missing.
That something has to be there.
But perhaps we don't need as much as the world tells us we do.

Unless we've suddenly suffered a serious injury and need emergency surgery...
Or unless we're talking about the basic necessities of food, clothing, and shelter...
Perhaps there is nothing we truly must have.
Nothing that is truly lacking.

Everything may have already been given to us,
already placed within us.

And yet the world keeps telling us:
"You need this."
"You have to have that."
"Something is wrong with you, so you need this and that.."

You visit the earth andย water it;
ย ย ย ย you greatly enrich it;
the river of God is full of water;
ย ย ย ย you provide their grain,
ย ย ย ย for so you have prepared it.
You water its furrows abundantly,
ย ย ย ย settling its ridges,
softening it withย showers,
ย ย ย ย and blessing its growth.
